My eSIM plan requires KYC verification. What is that and how do I complete it?
KYC stands for Know Your Customer - it's an identity verification process required by the government of certain countries before you can activate your eSIM.
This is not a Gohub requirement. It's a legal regulation in some destinations, designed to ensure the safety of user information and prevent illegal activity on local networks. Only a small number of plans on Gohub require KYC - you can identify them by the red KYC tag and the "Verification required" note on the plan card.
What does KYC involve?
The KYC verification process is straightforward. Completing the form takes only a few minutes. However, verification approval may take up to 30 minutes to 1 hour, so make sure to complete it at least 2-3 hours before your flight - do not leave it until you land. Once KYC is successfully verified on a device, the eSIM cannot be transferred to another device.
Every KYC-required plan on Gohub includes a full step-by-step verification guide in the Technical Details section of the plan page.
