What do I need before installing my eSIM?
Before you begin the installation, make sure you have everything in place. A rushed setup on the wrong network or the wrong device can cause issues that are difficult - or impossible - to undo.
What you'll need:
- A stable Wi-Fi connection: An internet connection is required to download the eSIM profile onto your device. Mobile data works in most cases, but Wi-Fi is strongly recommended for a smoother, more reliable installation.
- Your QR code: Gohub sends your eSIM QR code to your registered email immediately after purchase. You can also access it anytime in the Gohub app under your order details. Have it open and ready before you start - each QR code can only be scanned once, so do not share it or attempt to use it on multiple devices.
- A carrier-unlocked device: Your phone must not be locked to your home carrier's network. If you're unsure whether your device is unlocked, contact your carrier directly or check Device Compatibility before proceeding.
- Sufficient battery: Installation can take a few minutes, and an interrupted setup may cause errors. We recommend having at least 30% battery before you begin.
One more thing: eSIM installation requires your full attention. Find a quiet moment at home or at the airport before boarding - not mid-flight or in a rush at customs.
