What Your Phone Carries Around World Showcase Lagoon

A festival day at EPCOT is long and spread out. The topiaries begin near Spaceship Earth in World Celebration, the Outdoor Kitchens line the walkways into World Showcase, and the evening ends at America Gardens Theatre on the far side of a lagoon whose perimeter alone is 1.2 miles (1.9 km) 12. Most of the practical side of that day sits on your phone.

Your park admission can live in a Disney MagicMobile pass, and resort guests use the same pass or a MagicBand for Early Theme Park Entry 16. Garden Rocks Dining Package reservations are made through the My Disney Experience app or the Walt Disney World website 5. Menus, the park map and the concert line-up all change during the festival, so you will be checking them all day. Lose signal at the wrong moment and you are walking half a lagoon back to ask a cast member something your phone could have told you in seconds. Plan for a full day of map checks, photos and messages, and keep a power bank in your bag.

Opening Your Park Pass at the Spaceship Earth Turnstiles

The main entrance sits in World Celebration under Spaceship Earth, and spring mornings bring long queues 12. A MagicMobile pass on your phone is valid admission, but it has to load when you reach the reader 16. Open it before the queue starts moving, and add it to your phone's wallet the night before.

Checking Who Plays America Gardens Theatre Tonight

Garden Rocks books recognised acts on Friday to Monday and local Orlando bands from Tuesday to Thursday 9. Disney warns that line-ups can change without notice, so a quick check on your phone at lunch tells you whether tonight is worth queuing for before you walk all the way to the American Adventure pavilion 6.

Getting Back After the Skyliner Closes

The Disney Skyliner stops 90 minutes after EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios closes, and it cannot take you to the EPCOT parking lot after closing 14. If the last concert runs late and your group splits up, you need working data to check bus options or book a ride home from the main entrance.

When Is EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival in 2027?

The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival 2027 runs from Wednesday, March 10 to Monday, May 31, 2027 at EPCOT in Walt Disney World, as announced on the Disney Parks Blog 1. The official Walt Disney World concert page shows the same dates 2. These dates come from Disney itself, but editors still treat them as subject to change until the festival opens.

The 2027 edition is about a week shorter than the last one. EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival 2026 ran from March 4 to June 1, 2026 5. The start moved back because Walt Disney World extended the 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts by one week, leaving time to change over decorations and food booths between the two events 3. The Festival of the Arts runs from January 15 to March 1, 2027 4.

The festival has grown a long way from its start. It began in 1994 as a seasonal display garden with floral arrangements and a few Disney characters 11. The Epcot Garden Railway arrived beside the Germany pavilion in 1995, and the Garden Rocks Concert Series replaced the older Flower Power concerts in 2015 10. The festival paused during the COVID-19 period and came back in 2022 10.

What is still to come for the 2027 edition 1 4:

  • Garden Rocks line-up: Disney will publish the performers later.

  • Dining packages: reservation dates for the Garden Rocks Dining Package are still to be announced.

  • Foodie Guide: the Outdoor Kitchen menus arrive in a Foodie Guide closer to opening.

For a sense of timing, the 2026 line-up came out on January 21, 2026, and dining package reservations opened on February 5, 2026 3. Expect a similar winter rhythm before the 2027 opening.

Tip: Memorial Day is May 31, 2027, the closing day, so the final weekend combines a US holiday with the last Outdoor Kitchen service. Go earlier in May if you want calmer paths.

What Does a One-Day EPCOT Ticket Cost for the Festival?

There is no separate festival ticket: the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is included with valid EPCOT admission, and so are the Garden Rocks concerts at America Gardens Theatre 2. Depending on your admission type, a theme park reservation may also be needed 2.

As of October 2026, a 1-day Walt Disney World ticket for ages 10 and up started at $119 per day before tax 13. These are date-based tickets, so you choose a start date when you buy and the price changes with the day 13. Spring break weeks and holiday weekends sit at the high end; mid-week dates in early March or May tend to cost less.

What admission covers and what costs extra:

  • Included: the topiaries, gardens, Butterfly Landing, the Epcot Garden Railway and Garden Rocks seating on a first-come, first-served basis 2 9 10.

  • Extra: every dish and drink at the Outdoor Kitchens, which are priced individually.

  • Extra: the Spike the Bee scavenger hunt map, which cost $11.99 in 2026 8.

  • Extra: a Garden Rocks Dining Package, which pairs a meal at an EPCOT restaurant with one guaranteed concert seat per person 5.

  • Extra: parking, at $35 per day for a standard space as of October 2026 15.

The dining package suits nights when a big name is playing. In 2026 it included an entrée and dessert or a buffet, plus one drink, with a separate small-plates version at Spice Road Table in the Morocco pavilion 5. One long-time Disney writer rates walk-up seating as usually plentiful and does not consider the package necessary 9.

Tip: Buy tickets only from Walt Disney World or an authorised seller, and link them in My Disney Experience before you fly, so the park pass is ready on your phone at the gate.

How Do You Reach EPCOT From Orlando International Airport?

EPCOT sits inside Walt Disney World at Bay Lake, Florida, at 28.371°N, 81.550°W, southwest of Orlando 12. Most international visitors fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO), about 25 miles from the Magic Kingdom end of the resort 18.

From the airport, the main shared option is Mears Connect. As of October 2026, its one-way fares were $16 for ages 10 and up and $13 for ages 3 to 9, free under 3, plus a 6% fuel surcharge 17. It runs around the clock, serves both the Main and C terminals, and takes walk-ups 17. Because the bus stops at several resorts, the trip takes longer than a direct car: one travel writer's 2022 test ride took an hour and 12 minutes from check-in to drop-off 18.

Once you are on Disney property, EPCOT has two entrances, and each one suits a different route 12:

  • Main entrance, World Celebration: reached by car, bus and the Walt Disney World Monorail, which links EPCOT, the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center.

  • International Gateway, between France and the United Kingdom: reached by the Disney Skyliner, by watercraft, and on foot from the Epcot area resorts and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

  • Driving: standard parking costs $35 per day as of October 2026, and one fee covers the same day at other Walt Disney World theme parks 15.

The Skyliner opens one hour before Early Theme Park Entry at EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios and closes 90 minutes after either park closes 14. On nights with Extended Evening Hours at EPCOT, the International Gateway station connects only to the Riviera route 14.

Tip: If you parked at the main lot, exit through the main entrance. The Skyliner cannot take you back to the EPCOT parking lot after the park closes 14.

How Does a Festival Day Unfold From Spaceship Earth to World Showcase?

A festival day at EPCOT moves from topiaries in the morning, through Outdoor Kitchen grazing at midday, to Garden Rocks concerts in the evening at America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure pavilion 2. The festival spreads across all four neighbourhoods: World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase 5.

In 2026 the festival counted more than 60 character topiaries and over 31 gardens and exhibits 5. For 2027, Disney Tourist Blog reports more than 200,000 bedding plants, plus another 60,000 for the floral designs on the World Celebration East and West lakes 3.

Things to plan around during the day:

  • Butterfly Landing: a walkthrough butterfly garden near Imagination! that closes at dusk, so visit before late afternoon 9.

  • Epcot Garden Railway: the miniature train and town beside the Germany pavilion, in the same spot since 1995 10.

  • Spike the Bee hunt: in 2026 the map led to Spike markers in World Celebration, World Discovery, Butterfly Landing and seven World Showcase pavilions, from Mexico to the United Kingdom 8.

  • Garden Rocks: three shows a night at 5:30, 6:45 and 8:00 p.m. in 2026, with 25 acts over the run 6.

Garden Rocks follows a weekly pattern. Recognised acts play from Friday to Monday and local Orlando bands from Tuesday to Thursday 9. The 2026 season included Billy Ocean, 38 Special and Air Supply, plus new acts such as The Music of ABBA 6.

In 2026 each map could be redeemed for one prize, a small ceramic flower pot with a solar panel that makes the flowers move 8. The map did not have to be completed in one day 8.

Tip: Walk the topiaries in World Celebration first, while the light is soft and the paths are quiet, then cross to World Showcase as the kitchens open up.

Which Outdoor Kitchens Fill the Garden Graze Passport?

The Outdoor Kitchens are small food booths placed around EPCOT, each with its own garden-themed menu, and in 2026 there were over 20 of them with more than 75 new menu items 7. Disney has confirmed they return for 2027, with menus to follow in the Foodie Guide 1.

The 2026 kitchens show what to expect at EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival 2027 7:

  • BRUNCHCOT, near Test Track: avocado toast, shrimp and grits, and French toast.

  • The Honey Bee-stro, between Imagination! and World Showcase: chicken and waffles and frozen peach cobbler.

  • Florida Fresh, CommuniCore Plaza: conch fritters and Florida strawberry shortcake.

  • EPCOT Farmers Feast, CommuniCore Hall: grilled asparagus, scallop and beef strip loin.

  • Nectar, at the Land kiosk: a tuna poke bowl and a plant-based coconut panna cotta.

  • Pineapple Promenade, near the Port of Entry: a spicy hot dog and pineapple float.

Garden Graze is the festival's food stroll. In 2026 you bought a Festival Passport, collected a stamp at each marked dish from a list of 9 treats, and after five stamps claimed an exclusive treat at Pineapple Promenade 7.

Festival-themed Disney Gift Card wristlets were sold in 2026 with a minimum activation of $15, an easy way to set a grazing budget 7. Grazing costs more than one sit-down meal. One experienced Disney writer spends about $40–60 per afternoon at the kiosks 9. A family of four can easily double that if everyone orders their own plate.

Florida flavours run through the menus: citrus, strawberries and seafood show up across kitchens rather than at one stand. Plant-based dishes are marked on the menus 7.

Tip: BRUNCHCOT, Farmers Feast and Honey Bee-stro sit close together near the front of the park, so lines there build early 9. Start your grazing in World Showcase instead and work back.

How Warm Is Orlando by Late May?

Late May in Orlando is hot and wetter: the long-term normal May high is 88.4°F and the low 66.3°F, with 4.02 inches of rain over the month 20. April is milder, with a normal high of 83.6°F, a low of 60.7°F and 2.58 inches of rain 19. Those numbers shape how a day at the festival feels.

Early in the festival, March and early April mornings start cool and the afternoons are pleasant for walking the 1.2-mile (1.9 km) loop around World Showcase Lagoon 12. By May the heat builds through the afternoon, and showers become more likely as the month goes on 20.

Crowds follow the school calendar more than the weather. Disney Tourist Blog recommends weekdays at the start of the event, before spring break, as well as early-to-mid April and the whole of May 9. Garden Rocks weekends draw extra visitors because recognised acts play from Friday to Monday 9.

How to time your day at EPCOT:

  • Arrive for park opening: the topiaries photograph best in morning light, and resort guests get in 30 minutes early 16.

  • Midday: spend the hottest hours in indoor pavilions such as The Land or CommuniCore Hall.

  • Late afternoon: visit Butterfly Landing before it closes at dusk 9.

  • Evening: queue for Garden Rocks before the 5:30 p.m. show on concert weekends 6.

Tip: Pack a light rain jacket rather than an umbrella for May. Afternoon showers in Orlando can arrive quickly, and an umbrella is awkward in a crowded concert queue.

Why Base Yourself Near the International Gateway?

The most convenient base for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is a Disney Resort hotel close to the International Gateway, because you can walk or ride the Disney Skyliner straight into World Showcase 12 14. The Epcot area resorts sit along walkways to the gate, and the Skyliner line through the Riviera station runs to it 12 14.

Staying on Disney property brings practical perks for a festival trip:

  • Early Theme Park Entry: registered guests at Disney Resort hotels and select other hotels enter EPCOT 30 minutes early every day of their stay 16.

  • Free standard parking: standard theme park parking is included for registered Disney Resort hotel guests 15.

  • Skyliner access: gondolas run from one hour before Early Theme Park Entry until 90 minutes after EPCOT closes 14.

Other areas work too. The Skyliner resort stations between Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT give the shortest commute after the parks near the gate. Monorail-linked hotels near the Transportation and Ticket Center connect to the main entrance 12. Hotels off property in Lake Buena Vista or along International Drive usually mean driving and paying for parking, at $35 per day as of October 2026 15.

Book as soon as your dates are set. The festival overlaps spring break and Easter, and the closing weekend runs into Memorial Day on May 31, 2027. Rooms near EPCOT fill first, especially around Garden Rocks weekends when bigger names play.

Tip: If you stay near the International Gateway, plan to leave by the main entrance only if you parked there; the Skyliner cannot take you to the EPCOT parking lot after closing 14.

Will Your Phone Cope Around World Showcase Lagoon?

Expect your phone to work hard all day at EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival 2027, because your park pass, maps, menus and concert plans all run through it 16. The festival has no paper map for everything; menus are published in the Foodie Guide, the line-up on the Disney Parks Blog and the Walt Disney World site 1 2.

Where connectivity matters most at EPCOT:

  • At the turnstiles: a Disney MagicMobile pass is accepted as park admission and for Early Theme Park Entry 16.

  • Before concerts: the Garden Rocks Dining Package is booked through the My Disney Experience app or the Walt Disney World website 5.

  • Around World Showcase Lagoon: the 1.2-mile loop means meeting points matter when your group splits 12.

  • After closing: Skyliner hours end 90 minutes after the park closes, so late-night rides are booked on your phone 14.

Signal can slow down at the busiest moments, such as just before an evening show at America Gardens Theatre when thousands of phones are open at once. Download what you can before you arrive: tickets, the My Disney Experience app and saved screenshots of your dining reservations.

A local data plan avoids roaming charges for visitors from abroad. A United States eSIM can be installed at home and switched on when you land at Orlando International Airport, so you can book Mears Connect or a ride before you reach the baggage hall 17.

Tip: Your phone will drain fast between photos of topiaries and checking menus. Bring a power bank, and lower screen brightness during the day.

Frequently asked questions

The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival 2026 ran from March 4 to June 1, 2026 5. The 2027 edition is shorter, running from March 10 to May 31, 2027, because the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts was extended by one week before it 1 3. Both editions are included with EPCOT admission.

No. Garden Rocks concerts at America Gardens Theatre are included with valid EPCOT admission, and seating is first-come, first-served 2. The only paid option is the Garden Rocks Dining Package, which pairs a meal at an EPCOT restaurant with one guaranteed seat per person at the same day's concert 5. A theme park reservation may also be needed, depending on your admission type 2.

Butterfly Landing is near the Imagination! pavilion, at the edge of World Celebration, and it closes at dusk 9. It is a walkthrough garden with dozens of butterfly species 5. Ten or fifteen minutes is enough for most visitors, so fit it in during the late morning or afternoon rather than leaving it for the evening 9.

The Spike the Bee scavenger hunt map cost $11.99 in 2026 and was sold at festival merchandise locations 8. Each map could be redeemed for one prize, a small ceramic flower pot, and did not have to be finished in one day 8. The 2027 price will be confirmed closer to opening.

The 2027 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival starts on March 10, 2027 because Walt Disney World extended the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts by one week, to March 1, 2027 1 3 4. Disney needs time between the two festivals to change over decorations and food booths 3. The closing date is May 31, 2027 1.

Plan for steady use rather than heavy streaming. A day at EPCOT means loading your Disney MagicMobile pass at the gate, checking Outdoor Kitchen menus and the park map, sending photos of topiaries and sharing location around World Showcase Lagoon 12 16. Uploading videos from Garden Rocks concerts uses the most data, so save those for hotel Wi-Fi if your plan is small.
