Overview

EDC Mexico is expected to run from Friday, February 19 to Sunday, February 21, 2027, at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City 1 6. It is the 13th edition of the three-night electronic music festival, sold through Ticketmaster, with no camping and no re-entry once your wristband is scanned 2 3. Plan for altitude, a late Metro and airport-style security.

Highlights

  • Three nights on the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez motor-racing circuit in Iztacalco
  • Main entrance at Door 5 on Avenida Rio Churubusco, near Ciudad Deportiva Metro
  • Ticketmaster is the only official seller; Insomniac warns about fake resale tickets
  • Ticket 2 Ride shuttles leave from eight malls and parks across Mexico City
  • No re-entry after the scan, no camping, airport-style search at every gate
  • Mexico City sits at about 2,240 metres, so water and pacing matter

What Fails When Your Phone Drops Out Inside the Autodromo?

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is a racing circuit, not a park, and on the nights of EDC Mexico it turns into a temporary city of tens of thousands of people standing on and around an asphalt track. The festival stretches from the entrance at Door 5 on Avenida Rio Churubusco to the far stages, and the whole way you are carrying a phone that is your ticket, your map, your wallet for card top-ups and your only link to the friends you came with. When the cell network saturates in the middle of a headline set, text messages arrive twenty minutes late and maps stop loading.

The problem is sharper because the festival does not allow re-entry once your ticket has been scanned 3. If you leave the grounds to find signal, to charge a dead phone or to meet someone at the gate, you cannot simply walk back in. That makes your connection a planning decision, not a convenience. A travel eSIM installed before you land in Mexico City gives you a data line that works the moment you leave the plane, which is when you will first need ride apps and the Ticketmaster wallet.

Scanning a Ticketmaster QR at the Airport-Style Search

The gate search at the Autodromo is described by the organiser as airport-style, and the queue moves faster when your ticket is already open on screen 2. Ticketmaster tickets are non-transferable once scanned, and a three-day pass is scanned once per day 3. Download the ticket to your phone wallet at the hotel on strong Wi-Fi, raise your screen brightness and keep a small power bank, which the rules allow inside 2.

Booking a Ride Home When the Metro Closes Near Midnight

Metro service in Mexico City stops around midnight, while the festival runs until about 2:00 on the last edition's schedule 8 9. That gap is where people get stranded outside the gates with every rideshare price surging at once. Open your ride app before the final set, set a pickup point a few streets from the circuit, and keep mobile data active so the booking does not fail when thousands of phones request cars together.

Finding Your Group Around the Totem Field

Totems up to 3 metres tall and made of lightweight materials are allowed at EDC Mexico, and that is how groups mark a meeting spot on the grass between stages 2. Totems help, but they do not replace a shared live location. Agree on a landmark before the gates open, pin it in a group chat, and send a location pin when you split up for the toilets or water. Messages with a pin still go through on weak signal when voice calls do not.

The complete guide

When Is EDC Mexico in 2027?

EDC Mexico 2027 is scheduled for Friday, February 19 to Sunday, February 21, 2027, at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City 1 6. The organiser's own site lists the dates as "19-21 Febrero, 2027" and the local press and the Insomniac festival listing repeated them 1 7 14. We still mark them as expected until an editor confirms them with the organiser, because the Mexico site has carried images from the previous edition next to the new header.

This is the 13th edition of EDC Mexico, which means the festival has been returning to the same circuit for more than a decade 6. It always lands in February, in the dry season, on a weekend close to the Day of Love and Friendship feel of mid-month plans, so hotels fill early.

The previous edition ran on February 20, 21 and 22, 2026, also Friday to Sunday 8. If you searched for the 2026 dates, that is the answer, and it is also why you will find older Metro and parking articles that describe a different calendar.

Presales for the 2027 edition began early. A Banamex card presale opened on March 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and the general sale followed on March 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., both on Ticketmaster 7. Those windows have passed, so today you are buying from whatever release phase is open.

  • Expected dates: February 19-21, 2027 1
  • Previous edition: February 20-22, 2026 8
  • Day pattern: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, three separate scans for a three-day pass 3
  • Season: the dry, cool-nights part of the year in Mexico City

Tip: Book your flights around Friday afternoon, not Friday morning. Gates opened at midday on the last edition and the first sets started mid-afternoon, so you can land, shower and still arrive for the first evening. 8

EDC Mexico 2027 is expected to follow the same Friday-to-Sunday pattern at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, and that is the schedule to build your hotel nights and flights around.

What Does an EDC Mexico Pass Cost on Ticketmaster?

Tickets for EDC Mexico are sold through Ticketmaster in Mexico, and the organiser's FAQ tells you to buy only there because resellers may sell fake tickets 3. The festival lists two ticket types on its Mexico site, General Experience and Skydeck 1. Local press in 2025 and 2026 also described a Comfort Pass and a Citibanamex Plus tier 8 9.

Launch prices for the 2027 edition were reported by DJ Mag at 254 USD for General Admission, 299 USD for GA+ and 499 USD for VIP 6. For reference, the last edition's three-day General Pass cost about 4,140 MXN in its fourth phase, the Comfort Pass about 5,850 MXN, and single days about 1,590 to 1,890 MXN, all before service fees 8. An Early Owl General pass for that edition was reported at 3,380 MXN, which shows how much the phase matters 9.

The organiser promoted a Future Owl price in its announcement and described it as the lowest in its history 7. Early phases sell before the lineup is revealed, so you are paying for trust in the brand rather than for names.

  • Maximum of 8 tickets per person 3
  • Everyone from 3 years old needs a ticket; under 3 enter free 3
  • No refunds or exchanges 2
  • VIP areas are for guests 18 and over, even if a minor holds a VIP ticket 3

Warning: Do not buy from social-media sellers or from a friend of a friend. Insomniac states it will take no responsibility for resold tickets, and a pass is scanned only once per day. 3

If you need a shuttle too, the organiser sells Ticket 2 Ride packages and mentions special rates for Headliners 4. The shuttle price is not published on the pages we read, so check it at checkout.

Which Metro Station Gets You Closest to the Autodromo Gates?

Take Metro Line 9 to Velodromo or Ciudad Deportiva, or Metrobus Line 2 to Upiicsa or Goma, and walk the last stretch 8. The official address is Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Rio Churubusco Ave., Door 5, Ciudad Deportiva, Granjas Mexico, Iztacalco 5.

There is a trap for anyone reading older advice. In 2024 a stretch of Line 9 was closed for track works, so Pantitlan, Puebla and Ciudad Deportiva stations were not running and the advice was to get off at Velodromo 10. For the 2026 edition, press guides again sent people to Velodromo for the main entrances, Ciudad Deportiva for the middle gates and Puebla for the exit, with a warning that the Metro can close around midnight 9. Check the current status of Line 9 on the day, because station closures have changed more than once between editions.

Other ways in include the trolleybus stops beside Doors 7 and 8 of the Ciudad Deportiva complex and, from Goma, a walk to Door 7 11. Driving is the slowest option: the access roads named in 2026 coverage included Viaducto Rio de la Piedad, Eje 3 Sur Anil, which is closest to Door 15 parking, and Circuito Interior Rio Churubusco, which saturates quickly 8.

  • Metro Line 9: Velodromo (main gates), Ciudad Deportiva (middle gates), Puebla (exit) 9
  • Metrobus Line 2: Upiicsa, Goma, Iztacalco or Rodeo 11
  • Shuttle: Ticket 2 Ride from Mundo E, Plaza Lindavista, Galerias Coapa, Perisur Zacatepetl, Santa Fe, Interlomas, Parque de los Venados and Condesa Parque Espana 4
  • Parking: official lot at Door 15, limited and expensive; the 2026 guide advised arriving about three hours early 8

Tip: Leave on the Metro about an hour before the last set ends. If you wait for the final song, you may reach Puebla or Velodromo after service has stopped and be left with surge-priced rideshare. 9

The Ticket 2 Ride pickups matter if you stay in Condesa, Santa Fe or the south of the city, because the Condesa pickup at Parque Espana puts you on a direct ride with no changes 4.

Which Stages Shape Your Night at the Autodromo?

EDC Mexico runs on a late-afternoon-to-2:00 schedule, and the 2026 edition opened gates at 12:00, started music at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and ended around 2:00 each night 8. The 2027 hours have not been announced, so treat these as a guide only.

The named stages in 2026 coverage were KineticFIELD, CircuitGROUNDS and NeonGARDEN 8. KineticFIELD is the big main stage where the headliners close the night. CircuitGROUNDS sits in a different part of the circuit and tends to carry the harder, faster sets, while NeonGARDEN is where people go when they want to sit down on the edge of the dancefloor area and eat. Sitting on dancefloor areas themselves is not allowed 2.

The festival's layout follows the racetrack. You enter at Door 5 on Avenida Rio Churubusco, pass through the airport-style search, then walk toward the stages along wide asphalt. Because it is a circuit, shade is limited and the ground is hard on your feet.

  • Gates: opened at midday on the last edition 8
  • Music: began mid-afternoon on the last edition 8
  • Finish: around 2:00 on the last edition 8
  • Rules on the floor: no sitting on dancefloor areas, no outside food or drink, no lasers or horns 2

What you can carry in makes a difference to the day. Small bags, single-compartment backpacks and empty hydration packs are accepted, as are official Insomniac bottles (empty), phones, power banks, earplugs, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and hand sanitizer up to 60 ml 2. Bags larger than 30 by 30 cm, blankets, umbrellas, hard glass, cans, aerosols, perfumes, vapes, lighters and professional cameras are not accepted 2.

Tip: Plan your sets by stage, not by artist. The walk between KineticFIELD and the far side of the circuit takes real time, and leaving early to beat a crowd will cost you the end of a set. 8

For EDC Mexico 2027, the same three-night, three-stage structure is the safest assumption until the organiser publishes its schedule.

How Does 2,240 Metres of Altitude Change a Three-Night Festival?

Mexico City sits at about 2,240 metres above sea level, and that is the single most underestimated factor at EDC Mexico for anyone flying in from the coast or abroad 12. At that altitude the air has less oxygen, so a long dance set feels harder than it would at a festival at sea level. Alcohol also hits sooner.

The climate is classified as subtropical highland, with cool nights and warm afternoons 12. A historical-data site puts February's average high near 22 C and low near 7 C, with rain on only a small share of days, while a second dataset gives 24 C and 10 C 13. The sources disagree, but they agree that days are mild and nights are cold, which matters because the show runs until about 2:00 8.

Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats are on the allowed list for exactly this reason: sun at altitude is strong in the afternoon 2. Layers are the answer, not coats, because you can only carry a small bag.

  • Arrive at least a day early if you can, to adjust to the altitude
  • Drink water steadily; you can bring an empty hydration pack or official bottle 2
  • Eat before you enter; outside food is not allowed 2
  • Bring a light layer for the walk home after midnight
  • Use earplugs, which are allowed 2

Tip: Do not schedule a hard hike or an intense day on your first morning in the city. Altitude tiredness stacks on top of festival fatigue by the third night.

The evergreen rule at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is simple: pace yourself over three nights. Altitude is the reason people who rush the first night often miss the last one.

Which Colonia Works Best for a Bed Near Iztacalco?

The best base for EDC Mexico is the area that matches how you plan to get to the circuit, not the one closest to it. The Autodromo sits in Iztacalco on the east side of the city, in an area with few restaurants and a limited number of places to stay, so most visitors sleep in a central or southern colonia and commute.

Condesa and Roma are the common choices for visitors who want cafes, walkable streets and a Ticket 2 Ride pickup, since the festival lists Condesa Parque Espana as a shuttle point 4. Other pickups, such as Santa Fe, Interlomas and Perisur Zacatepetl, work well if you are in the west or south 4. The neighbourhoods near Metro Line 9 are practical if you want to use the Metro and avoid traffic.

Rooms fill early for a February weekend with a festival, because the Autodromo draws a national and international crowd. Book as soon as you buy your pass, and choose free cancellation. The organiser's site has a "Viaja y hospedate" section for hotels, but it did not name specific hotels when we read it 1.

Camping is not allowed and you may not stay in the parking areas 2. That rules out sleeping near the track, so a bed in the city is mandatory.

  • Condesa and Roma: central, restaurants, shuttle pickup at Parque Espana 4
  • Santa Fe: modern hotels in the west, shuttle pickup at Vasco de Quiroga 4
  • South Mexico City: Perisur and Galerias Coapa pickups for those staying in the south 4
  • Near Line 9: easy Metro access, but check closures first 10

Tip: Choose lodging within a short walk of either a Metro station or a Ticket 2 Ride pickup. A hotel that needs a car to reach the circuit will cost you the most at 2:00.

For EDC Mexico 2027, book accommodation as soon as your ticket is secure, since February festival weekends in Mexico City sell out earlier than ordinary weekends.

How Do You Find Your Group When the Autodromo Network Jams?

Tens of thousands of phones inside one circuit overload the local cell network, so assume that voice calls will fail and plan around messages and pinned locations. Public Wi-Fi is not offered at the festival grounds on the pages we read, so your mobile line carries everything 2.

A travel eSIM lets you arrive with data already working, which helps for the rideshare you will book at the airport and for the ticket wallet. You can compare options on the Mexico eSIM page. Install it before you fly, keep your home SIM for calls, and turn on data roaming for the eSIM line only.

Plan the following before the gates open:

  • Download the Ticketmaster ticket to your phone wallet on hotel Wi-Fi 3
  • Save an offline map of Iztacalco and the route to Velodromo Metro 8
  • Agree a meeting point and share live location in a group chat
  • Carry a charged power bank; portable chargers are allowed inside 2
  • Screenshot your Ticket 2 Ride booking and the pickup address 4

Your phone is also the ticket and the way you prove age. You need ID to buy alcohol, and accepted IDs are an INE card, a passport (Mexican or foreign), or a foreign driver's licence with photo and date of birth; Mexican driver's licences, school or consular IDs and expired IDs are not accepted 2 3. Bring your passport, not a photo of it.

Note: Exiting to look for signal means you cannot come back in, as re-entry is not allowed after your ticket is scanned 3. Fix your connection before you scan.

For EDC Mexico 2027 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the plan is simple: tickets saved offline, a shared pin for your group, and a data line you set up before landing.

Frequently asked questions

No, re-entry is not allowed at EDC Mexico. Once your ticket is scanned at the gate you cannot go out and come back in, and a three-day pass is scanned once per day 3. That means you should eat, charge your phone and meet your friends before you scan, and decide in advance where you will wait for your ride home after the last set.

You need to be 18 or older and show a photo ID with a date of birth, and accepted documents are an INE card, a passport from any country and a foreign driver's licence 2 3. Mexican driver's licences, school IDs, consular IDs and expired IDs are not accepted. If you are a visitor, carry your actual passport rather than a copy or photo.

Children under 3 enter free, and everyone from 3 years old needs a ticket 3. Guests under 16 are welcome with a legal guardian, while attendees over 16 are recommended to go without an adult 2 3. VIP areas are for guests 18 and older even if a minor holds a VIP ticket. Bring earplugs, since they are on the allowed list.

No, camping is not allowed at EDC Mexico, and you may not stay in the parking areas either 2. There are no tents or blankets inside, so you need a bed in the city. Many visitors choose Condesa, Roma or the Santa Fe area and use the Ticket 2 Ride shuttle or Metro to reach Door 5 on Avenida Rio Churubusco 4 5.

Yes, portable chargers and phones are accepted, and so are empty hydration packs, single-compartment backpacks and official Insomniac bottles, provided they are empty 2. Bags larger than 30 by 30 cm, outside food and drink, cans, hard glass, vapes, lighters and professional cameras are not allowed. Plan to fill up with water after the airport-style search at the entrance.

You need working data or a saved ticket on your phone, and an eSIM is an easy way to have data when you land. Download the Ticketmaster ticket to your phone wallet on hotel Wi-Fi first, because the network around the Autodromo gets crowded on show nights 3. Install a Mexico eSIM before you fly so ride apps and maps work at arrival.
